Growing Roots Speech and Language Therapy is accepting clients with Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, Moda, United Healthcare and OHP insurance

Private pay is also an option for those that I am not credentialed with. With Private pay, payment is always due at the time of service and I accept the following forms of payment: cash, check, credit, debit, and Health Savings Account (HSA)/Flexible Spending Account (FSA) cards.

Concerned about private pay? The following are some things to think about:

  • Does your insurance plan include out of network benefits? If so, your insurance company may cover a portion of the services. You will first have to call your insurance company and ask if you are eligible for an out-of-network speech/language evaluation and/or therapy reimbursement. If yes, a SUPERBILL (detailed receipt with certain codes) will be provided to you. This will contain all the necessary information for you to submit to your own insurance company and seek reimbursement. What are the benefits of private pay?

  • You as a parent get to decide the therapist that is best suited for your child's needs rather than an insurance company telling you who to see.

  • Flexible scheduling and availability (especially those after school-hours for older children)

  • No insurance = less documentation which means more quality time to focus on your child's therapy using evidence-based treatment.

  • More services are allowed without restrictions (i.e., teletherapy).

  • No referral from a doctor is needed which means therapy can start right away.

  • No cap on amount of sessions or the duration of each session length - as a parent YOU get to choose.

  • You can stay with your child's therapist even if your insurance plan coverage changes.

  • CONSULTATIONS

    FREE / 15 minutes

Consultations are conducted via phone or Zoom. Discuss your concerns with a licensed and certified SLP.

  • Comprehensive evaluations are available in the areas of: speech (articulation, phonology), fluency (stuttering), receptive language and expressive language.

This is typically a 60-90 minute visit with a $260 fee that includes an evaluation report and follow up phone call to discuss results in more depth.

  • INDIVIDUAL THERAPY

    30-minute session/ $100

Each session is tailored to the unique needs and personality of the child and incorporates evidence-based teaching strategies and parent coaching to maximize progress.

  • Parent consultations are always included in the treatment session. This can happen in the beginning and end of the session. If the child is receiving services at school/ daycare, a summary of the session will be left in their backpack.

  • Growing Roots Speech and Language Therapy accepts Cigna, United Healthcare, Moda, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Medicaid, and private pay clients.

Credit, debit, HSA, and FSA are accepted.

Private pay clients, after you submit payment to Growing Roots, a monthly superbill can be provided to you upon request. A superbill allows you to request reimbursement directly from your health insurance company.

Payment is due at the time of service.

Good Faith Estimates

Beginning January 1, 2022, if you're uninsured or if you opt to self-pay (i.e., not going through your health insurance), health care providers must provide you with an estimate of expected charges before you get an item or service. This is called a good faith estimate (GFE).

Providers and facilities must provide you with a GFE if you request one or after you've scheduled a service. It should include the expected charges for all items or services that are provided as part of the same scheduled experience. The provider must provide a list of all items and services associated with your care.
